Looking ahead to next week
As the sun sets on this Sabbath and a new week begins, we turn our hearts toward next week’s Sabbath School lesson. Lesson 12 is titled “Share Him” (June 13–19), and we’ll explore it together when we gather next Sabbath, June 20. Here’s a gentle head start so the week ahead can be rich and unhurried.
“The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear as the learned.” — Isaiah 50:4 (NKJV)
What this lesson is about
“Share Him” is an invitation to let our relationship with God overflow naturally to the people around us. Witnessing isn’t reserved for preachers or experts — it simply means being an eyewitness of what God is doing in your life, and sharing that with others. As the lesson reminds us, the early disciples “had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13), and they could not help but speak about what they had seen and heard.
We’ll also be reminded that we never force or pressure anyone. Jesus drew people with love, met their needs, and invited — He never coerced. And for any of us with a loved one who has wandered from God, the lesson holds out real hope: God has not forgotten them. His heart still yearns for them to come home.
Why it’s worth starting early
When we begin the lesson early in the week rather than rushing on Friday night, the ideas have time to settle and grow. We arrive at Sabbath School with thoughts already stirring, questions ready, and our own stories to share. The daily study becomes less of a task and more of a walk with God through the week.
A simple day-by-day plan (Sunday–Friday)
Sunday — Out of the Overflow (Matthew 28:18–20). Witnessing flows from being with Jesus.
Monday — Unforced but With Power (2 Peter 3:18). We share with love, never coercion.
Tuesday — Tips for Sharing Jesus (1 Peter 3:8–15). Simple, practical ways to begin.
Wednesday — A Wandering Child (Hosea 7). Hope for those who have walked away.
Thursday — Bring Them Back (Zechariah 10). God’s heart to restore His people.
Friday — Further Thought. Drawing the week together as we prepare for Sabbath.
This week’s challenge
Pick one person — a neighbour, a co-worker, a family member, the face you see most days — and begin praying for them by name each morning this week. Ask God for one natural opportunity to show kindness or to share something He has done in your life. You don’t need the perfect words; you just need to have been with Jesus.
Looking forward to Sabbath
We can’t wait to open “Share Him” together next Sabbath, June 20, and to hear what God shows you through the week. Come ready to share — your story may be exactly the encouragement someone else needs.
